Depot like you mean it: how I organized my blushes and eyeshadows

One of my recent resolutions when it comes to make up is to consolidate as much as possible. One way that I have found to do this is to depot anything and everything that I can so I can have the products more easily accessible.

I keep all my Z-palettes plus a few other odds and ends in these two Ikea cardboard folders. It is a cheap and convenient solution for storage. You could even write on them with a marker.

Spotlight on: my depoted Mineralize products

Dome Z-palette with baked items

As part of the decluttering project I am carrying out, I decided to depot my mineralize products. As was the case with my regular eyeshadows and blushes, trying to find a specific shade was time consuming and the products ended not being used as much.

Also, in the case of the Mineralize Eyeshadows, I don’t like the product so far, so by depoting them and keeping them visible I am trying to force myself to use them.

The only products I have not depoted are my Minerlize Skinfinishes, as I would simply need several palettes to contain them!

As the Mineralize products are dome shaped as opposed to the flat surface of regular formulas, I had to buy a Z-palette high enough that could contain them, the Dome Palette.

Shopping the stash

Z-Palette with my small colour eyeshadows

As I have said previously, I have been going through my make up to discard those products that I do not use and find them a new home.

Another strategy in consolidating my stash is to depot and place the products in free-form palettes.

In my case, I have been depoting anything and everything and I have been then placing them in Z-palettes. This not only helps when organizing your belongings but it also helps to know what you already own. In my case, for some strange reason I feel drawn to blue eyeshadows despite that I do not wear it that often!

The palette featured in this post contains my small sized coloured eyeshadows, which contains mainly MAC eyeshadows (both permanent and limited edition) and 4 Make Up Store Cybershadows.

The Cybershadows have a metallic finish and are exactly the same size as a mac eyeshadow and contain 2g of product. This eyeshadows cost 12€, but you can find the discontinued ones for 8.40€ each.
