If the witty Oscar Wilde had had the (mis)fortune of meeting me, he might have changed that phrase onto “She can resist anything except brushes”.
When I entered my local MAC Store to have a look at the MAC So beauty collection, my eyes were immediately drawn towards these two beauties.
Actually, this is a for now perfect match, until I try other primers, as I’ve only tried the combination that includes Le Blanc de Chanel underneath MAC Prolongwear foundation mixed with some Face and Body and applied with Wayne Goss brush 01.
For some time now I have not been liking my MAC Prolongwear. Despite this, I am on my second bottle: I felt as if I could not find a foundation that could survive my combination skin and the stifling summer temperatures and not look cakey. Such a thing simply did not exist! So I made do with Prolongwear.
I would try applying more and less powder, this and that brush, but by the time I ended my work day, after having had to blot a couple times during the day, I would look in the mirror and cringe.
I have tried mixing it with MAC Face and Body and with Studio Moisturize Tint, and those lighter textures made it quite better. But today I decided that I had to finally try my Wayne Goss 01 and which foundation should I use but the one that looks worst on me! If the 01 could work wonders with Prolongwear then I could throw anything its way.

Yes, I am in love today, as the song by The Cure says, as I’ve had a couple days to play with my Wayne Goss brushes and they must be one of the best purchases I’ve ever made! I’m even going to go as far as confessing to doing my face more than once in a day just so I could use them again.
Why have I bought so many low and medium quality brushes? Why have I wasted so much money instead of simply buying the quality brushes I’ve always longed for for starters? Who knows, but not I’ve seen the error of my ways.
So, once I breathed deeply and knew that I was really going to do this, the little devil on my shoulder said “Why buy only the Holiday Brush when you’ve always wanted The Collection? And look! They are offering free shipping!”. So yeah, I caved and took the plunge. Now I am the enraptured owner of these nine gorgeous brushes that feel like a dream and perform effortlessly.
