As I mentioned in my previous post about Maite Tuset’s visit to our local MAC store, she recommended several products to me based on my skin type and features.
I opted for not purchasing any base products as either a) I already use them or b) I want to finish those at home first. So seeing that I already owned many of the products that she was suggesting, she opted for creating an eye look with all brand new products (to me!). She explained that defined eyes are coming back and proposed a beautiful smoky eye. And of course, I could not resist bringing them home!
I came back home with two eyeshadows, a Fluidline and a Fluidline Eye Pencil, all in very harmonic colours.
I was surprised that I had not picked up these two eyeshadows before in one of my quests for the perfect neutrals.
Bronze (14€ for 1.5g) is a no-nonsense bronze shade. It is a frost finish eyeshadow that reflects slightly golden. That is why the trick of using it all over the eyelid as a fine dusting adds a golden and luminous reflection to the eye look.
On the other hand, Twinks (14€ for 1.5g) is a brown with golden reflection shade. It has a veluxe pearl finish.
The Fluidline in Deliciously rich (19€ for 3g) is a limited edition item from the Mac is Beauty collection. As you can see it is very similar to Twinks, although it leans slightly to burgundy. The formula is a tad sheer, so the glittery golden bits really stand out against the dark brown sheer base.
Finally, the Fluidline Eye Pencil in Earth Sign (19€ for 0.28g) is a dark brown liner, and it too has a hint of burgundy. I really loved how smoothly it applies and how creamy it is. It also sets to a long lasting finish so I am really loving it. However, if you pay attention at the ration price per gram, I am a bit recalcitrant to buy more pencils in this formula (other Mac pencils retail for 18€ and have 1.2g). Temptalia lists the Pro Longwear pencil in Strong willed as a dupe, so I am going to keep an eye on it.
I loved the look created with these products. Do you own any of them? What are your thoughts?
