How to depot Sleek Blush by 3 blushes

Trying to find a tutorial on how to depot Sleek blushes meant that I ended reading quite a few horror stories on how difficult it was and how many casualties others suffered.

But pigheaded that I am, I wanted all my blushes in a Z-palette, so I took a deep breath and gave it a try. And, surprise! I succeeded!

As when I have depoted other products, I favour the candle method as I find it quite convenient and easy. However, it is true that the sleek containers are thicker that many.

As you can see in the picture, I would hold it over the candle and let it gradually melt the plastic. It is better if you are near a window as the sticker at the back will burn and stink.

The trick here is not to rush it at all! The pans are very big so if you try to apply pressure while the glue and plastic is not properly melted, you will break the blush. It is better to let it get hotter until you can easily poke through with your sharp object (a knife in my case).

So as long as you arm yourself with patience you will succeed in getting your blushes out of the containers and into your fancy free-form palette. Enjoy having them all on hand and easily accessible!

Are you a compulsive depoter like me? Have you got any horror stories?

  1. Yay I’m glad you got that figured out! I depotted some things a long time ago, but generally speaking I don’t do it anymore nowadays. I like my eyeshadows and so on in the nice compacts they came in. Also I am a total klutz. Chances of me ending up with broken makeup (noooooo) are high!
